more information... about Craig David

Craig David, (full name Craig Ashley David), is an English singer of R&B songs as well as a songwriter, born in May 5, 1981. To date, he has released a total of four albums: "Born To Do It", "The Story Goes", "Trust Me", "Slicker Than Your Average", as well as a compilation of his Greatest Hits.

David's very first exposure was when he worked with Damage on their song "Wonderful Tonight". Craig then began providing vocals for Artful Dodger e.g. the track "Rewind", which was included in Dodger's album entitled "It's All About the Stragglers", which became number 2 on the 1999 UK charts, resulting to Craig David having a solo career. "Fill Me In" became number 1 in the UK while Craig was just 19 years of age, thus, making him the youngest solo male performer to top the UK charts. His debut album entitled "Born To Do It" also contained other tracks that were a success, including "Key to My Heart", which was included in the Warner Brothers animation: "Osmosis Jones".
Craig's second album "Slicker than Your Average" was introduced to the public in 2002, but did not achieve success like his debut album. "What's Your Flava?", however, made it to the Top 40, and the track "World Filled with Love" reached number 15 on the chart. "Slicker than Your Average" eventually turned gold in the US. In 2005, Craig David released "The Story Goes", his third album, with its lead single: "All The Way" placing 3rd on the chart. Another single: "Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)", spent a total of 15 weeks in the UK's Top 75. In 2007, David released his fourth album "Trust Me" which hit the 18th spot on the UK Albums Chart, with the first single entitled "Hot Stuff" being included in the Top 10.

In 2008, David released another single: "Officially Yours", which was not a success. David also participated in the 2008 Soccer Aid held at the Wembley Stadium wherein he won the "Man of the Match" award. In the same year, Craig David also achieved two nominations in the UK Urban Music Award for "Best R&B Act" and "Best Album". In November (2008), he also received an honorary degree "Doctor of Music" from the Southampton Solent University in recognition of the things David contributed to the music industry. Just a few days ago (April 2009), Craig David's "Born To Do It" was voted by MTV viewers as 2nd in the poll on "Greatest Album of All-Time".
